Naerys Targaryen looked exactly like a weaker, frailer version of Dany. GRRM indicates that a lot of Targaryen girls resembled Daenerys in some ways. And we know that she later married her brother Gaemon 'the Glorious' Targaryen, co-ruled Dragonstone with him after their father died, and gave birth to at least two children, Aegon and Elaena Targaryen. From AFfC we know that she must have been a young girl when she foresaw the Doom of Valyria, because she is mentioned by the Reader as 'the maiden daughter of Aenar Targaryen'. The thought of Balerion hatching in the very year of the Targaryen exile to Dragonstone makes a lot of sense, I think, when we start wonder who Balerion's first rider may have been - Daenys the Dreamer, most likely. I just can't see Viserys - or later Aemond - try to ride/claim beasts like Vhagar and Balerion at the ages of 10-13. Aegon the Younger is way too young to ride a dragon, and only Luke, Jace, and Baela seem to be really in control of the their mounts (although their inexperience is a huge disadvantage in battle).

If Rhaenyra's sons in TPatQ are any indication, the Targaryens started to bond with/ride their dragons during their early teens, not earlier. I can't imagine a ten-year-old riding a dragon like Balerion. Prince Daemon was born in 81 AC, and even if Viserys was ten years older than Daemon he would only have been 17 in the year 88 AC. But I think there is a small measure that Balerion lived into the 90s, because I've difficulty to imagine that Viserys mastered Balerion while he was still very young. If he hatched in the very year the Targaryens left for Dragonstone (112 BC) he would have been 200 years old in 88 AC. He is no dragon lore expert nor a history buff, so it's possible that Balerion did not die at the exact age of 200, but somewhat around that age. We also can't be completely sure that Barristan Selmy did not err. We don't yet know how old Balerion was in 112 BC, all we know is that he was alive back then. GRRM also confirmed that Balerion was no longer alive during the Great Council in 101, thus confirming that the presence of Balerion did not exactly sway the Lord to choose Viserys (although the fact that he once rode the Black Dread may still have been an important point). From the con readings from 'Fire and Blood' about Aegon's Conqust we learned that Balerion was one of five dragons Aenar Targaryen brought with him from Valyria to Dragonstone about twelve years before the Doom took Valyria (i.e. In ASoS we learned from Barristan Selmy that Balerion died at about the age of 200 years during the reign of Jaehaerys I. When the Black Dread died (of old age, not in war), he did not take a second dragon.' 'Viserys I flew Balerion, I seem to recall. Recent news revealed that the last rider of Balerion the Black Dread was Prince Viserys Targaryen, who would eventually rule as King Viserys I.
